SmartSpace reports this week while its peer, essensys PLC (LON:ESYS), reports the following week. The companies offer Software-as-a-Service solutions for smart buildings with SmartSpace focused on the small-to-mid market and essensys focused on the flexible workspace market. The focus will be on how the businesses have coped with the COVID-19 pandemic in light of the shift to home working.

The week ahead

SmartSpace Software PLC (), which provides ‘Integrated Space Management Software’ for smart buildings and commercial spaces, reports annual results tomorrow for the year-end 31 January 2020. It will also be announcing its interim results ending 31 July 2020. In August, the company announced the sale of its enterprise software business, enabling it to focus on the small to mid-market, reflected in its SwipedOn and Space Connect operations. SwipedOn is a contactless sign-in application for mobile devices while Space Connect enables desk management and cleaning alerts to site entrance management and has been adapted for COVID-19 to handle contact tracing and social distancing for the workplace. In September, SmartSpace announced that it had signed a distribution agreement with ESCO Pte. Ltd., a major audiovisual integrator in the Far East, to resell its Space Connect workspace management solution.

Across the pond, , Inc. (NASDAQ: PAYX) reports first-quarter earnings on Tuesday while (NASDAQ: MRVL) is holding an investor day on Thursday.

Additionally, (NASDAQ: NVDA) is holding it’s GPU [Graphics Processing Unit] Technology Conference this week for developers, researchers, engineers, and innovators. The conference will review the latest breakthroughs in AI [artificial intelligence], HPC [high performance computing], graphics, data science and more. Further, Arm, which is now part of NVIDIA, is holding its DevSummit virtual conference from Tuesday to Thursday. The Arm conference will include a fireside chat with Arm chief executive officer (CEO), Simon Segars and NVIDIA CEO, Jensen Huang on Tuesday. This will be the first public discussion with the two CEOs since NVIDIA announced its agreement to acquire Arm from SoftBank. Topics covered include what the combination of Arm and NVIDIA could mean for the future of AI, more details on NVIDIA’s plans for its AI Center of Excellence in the UK and some news from NVIDIA on its support for the Arm ecosystem.
